UBM Electronics’ All-Access Conference Pass Application for ARM® TechCon™, Powered by UBM Studios, a Finalist for a min’s Best of the Web Awards
Electronic Industry’s First Tablet Application Delivered High Value Content to Users During and After ARM TechCon™
CHICAGO, Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — UBM Studios today announced that the UBM Electronics All-Access Conference Pass application for the ARM TechCon event has been named a finalist in the min’s Best of the Web Awards in the Tablet App Paid App category. The All-Access Conference Pass application utilized technology developed by UBM Studios. The application provides a digital extension to improve attendees’ event experiences. It integrates with any event – live or online – to offer content that enhances the user experience before, during and after the event. The application is platform agnostic and available to work on tablet and desktop devices.
The min Best of the Web Awards are the business-to-business industry’s top honor in the digital space, recognizing outstanding websites and digital initiatives among consumer and b2b magazines. Award winners will be announced on April 3, 2012.
UBM Electronics launched the All-Access Conference Pass application at the ARM TechCon Conference, which was held October 25-27, 2011 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. The application allowed conference attendees to access all of the conference’s interactive proceedings, including technical sessions as well as white papers, webinars, videos and collateral on a ViewSonic gTablet, an ARM processor–based dual core tablet. The ARM TechCon program included more than 85 sessions led by 102 industry experts, targeting electronic and computer designers to help them connect, learn and engage in next-generation ARM technology-based mobile and embedded technologies.
The technology offered an “Agenda” that allowed users to create a personal calendar for the event, to ensure that they did not miss any sessions critical to their learning experience. Also, the application provided an alert to remind attendees when sessions would be starting. In addition, the application allowed users to find the content they were interested in viewing and add it to their “Briefcase” for review at their convenience on any device.
“According to research we conducted last year, marketing and event professionals are seeking to access content online or via mobile devices before, during and after the event. This highlights that audiences are interested in engaging digitally throughout the entire event cycle, connecting attendees from the physical event to the online channel and back again,” said Kate Spellman, President, UBM Studios. ”We understand the critical importance of connecting users with content in more meaningful ways and providing them with a platform to continue their education and discussions long after the event is over.”
“The use of tablets and applications, such as the All-Access Pass, at tradeshows and conferences opens the door to endless opportunities to enhance the attendee experience. A digital show guide, a conference bag, content management and networking tools are all packaged neatly in one location that can be accessed anytime and at any place. This is a wonderful tool for us to help mold future content and offer the best attendee experience possible for our customers,” said Colin Holland, Content Director, UBM Electronics.
