Building Webinar Series Educates Construction and Architecture Professionals
CHICAGO, Feb. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – UBM Built Environment‘s Building presented the third webinar in the Collaborative BIM Series entitled “Compatibility and Collaboration” on February 1, 2012. Targeted to contractors, architects, designers, structural engineers, building services engineers, cost consultants and project managers, the webinar offered practical advice and guidance on incorporating Building Information Modelling (BIM) into daily work as well as the benefits of BIM and other collaborative technologies. The webinar was presented in UBM Studios‘ Webcast Theater. UBM Studios is the global leader in digital events, environments and communities.
The webinar series drew over 4,100 registrants. Eight hundred attendees watched the webinar live and on average spent 2 hours and 14 minutes in the event. Additionally, the webinar hosted a Social Media Chair to moderate chat and questions on Twitter which encouraged over 320 tweets on the hashtag #BIMSeries during the hour long webinar expanding the event reach to over 20,000 Twitter followers.
The webinar focused on the technical issues around hosting the BIM model and integrating different software packages. With insight into: the communication between different models; how it is hosted argument for single/joint models; dissecting information within model; and impact and navigating Cloud Computing.
The webinar chair was Tom Lane, Assistant Editor (Technical), Building. Panel participants included Duncan Reed, Design Manager, Balfour Beatty Construction; James Middling, Associate Director, Mott MacDonald; and Nathan Doughty, Chief Operating Officer, Asite.
